I have a strong commitment and belief, that we have a duty to provide excellent care for our loved ones as they age and are no longer able to care for themselves. Having faced Alzheimer's and dementia issues with my own mother and grandmother, I know how demanding caring for our loved one can be. It's not unusual, as we age, to need extra help with everyday activities. Simple tasks : dressing, preparing meals, remembering to water the plants, are easy for us, but these can be large hurdles for someone with dementia. Going to the grocery store, doctor's appointments, social engagements, or perhaps just an outing to the mall have become daunting or impossible. Loneliness is also a major issue with individuals who can no longer get around by themselves. Just knowing they have someone to spend time with them is a great comfort. Not only is it beneficial at an emotional level, but research has shown individuals who remain in familiar surroundings, stay mentally and physically healthier longer. Taking care of your loved one with any of these issues, is a stressful and demanding 24/7 job. With many years experience, and excellent letters of reference from all the families I have worked with, I would love the opportunity help you with your loved one.
