Who I Am: Hello my name is Karen Austin. I am seeking a senior care or companion job in the inland empire. I would consider relocating to Orange County for the right situation. I am available to travel with client if needed. I am available for full-time, or live-in weekends to relieve caregiver in place. My aim is to utilize my skill as a senior care provider or companion. I have worked as a Certified Nurses’ Assistant (CNA) in both Massachusetts and North Carolina. In both states, I worked with private agencies placing nurses and CNAs in private homes and to backfill local nursing homes as needed. Whether providing hospice care in an impoverished Appalachian community, acting as a “home health aide,” (CNA) to a wealthy businesswoman in a 19th Century Mansion outside of Boston, or working within a respite/temporary care center for the terminally ill and their families – I brought an open mind and gained a humble, unique perspective in each role. Services And Training I am happy to help with social support and assessments. I have many years experience. I am grounded, reliable and trustworthy. I am registered in California with the Department of Social Services as a Home Care Aide. I am a certified Massage Therapist and licensed Esthetician. I am about to take my CNA exam after having been in Europe for 7 years. I have local references as I was in California for a year and a half during the time I lived overseas. I will be honest here and say that I prefer to care for someone that is mentally alert and needs some sort of physical care and perhaps someone to make sure they do not come to harm.
