We are not NURSING FACILITIES, but private homes, and the operators(managers) of the homes live with up to six other adults. A Family-Type Home for Adults (FTHA) is New York State certified and County regulated. Our level of care is somewhere between assisted living and nursing home’s. We provide one caregiver to every four clients....while larger facilities provide one caregiver to fifteen residents! We have trained caregivers who have years of experience, first aid training, in home training and CPR. The Homestead homes are not only warm and welcoming, but full of love and excellent personalized care. Our homes provide individuals, who do not need skilled nursing care, with room, board and supervision. Long term care is our object, with our operators being dedicated, skilled and nurturing individuals. We have family meals, picnics, cook outs, parties, holiday celebrations, and outings.
