Elder Care in Leominster, Massachusetts

In December I graduated from my patient care course and received my CNA license from the Red Cross. In January I started working overnights full time at a local nursing home, and I loved it. Nothing was more rewarding than being told by my patients how much more secure they felt on the nights that I was on, knowing that I would always be there with love and undivided attention when they needed something during the night. Unfortunately I left that facility in March because my brother went into the hospital and I couldn't handle the hours with the stress I was under. Though my work experience in the field is thus far limited to that, I am currently trying to get back on my feet and find another wonderful job and am willing and eager to work with someone who will walk me through exactly the kind of care they are expecting. The experience that I have includes bed bathing, assisted bathing in a tub or shower, hand care, foot care, denture care, hair care, perineal care, dressing, feeding, range of motion exercises, toileting, applying teds, using a gait belt, using Hoyer lifts, bed-to-seat and vice versa transfers, and taking pulse, temperature, blood pressure, and respirations. I have had personal and/or work related experience with Alzheimer's disease and related dementia, amputation, asthma, ADD/ADHD, Autism, behavioral, emotional, and intellectual disorders, blindness, developmental disabilities, and hearing impaired. I truly love caring for people and in the last few months I've been caring for my own grandmother alone, and I'm eager to extend help to another family as well as soon as possible.
