Hello! I can relate to the struggle it is for families to find a loving and trustworthy caregiver to come alongside them to work in their home. I feel a compassion and empathy for families walking the hard road of a loved one with dementia or other health struggles. My experiences over the years of caring for my grandmother with dementia include bathing, dressing, medications, transporting with a wheelchair, companionship, social engagement and activities, and managing combative behaviors. I also lived with an elderly friend in Togo who had significant diabetes concerns, and helped with palliative home-care for a friend dying of AIDS. I consider myself to be a patient person. I have served overseas at a mission hospital in Togo for some years as a social worker. It would be my great honor and joy to love and serve your loved one and your family. I would consider it part of my job to find activities to actively engage your loved one with- reading books, going for walks, crafts, etc.
