Elder Care in Nassau, New York

Hi, My name is Angela. Throughout my life friends and family have called me various nicknames of Angela and if you are comfortable with that, so am I. I wanted to let you know about why I have such high reverence for the elderly and also to let you know this wouldn’t be the first time I’ve worked with an elderly person. I have had elderly people in my for as long as I can remember. I was in foster care with an older couple and my foster fathers parents lived on the main floor of the house. At 9 years, I was adopted by a couple and my adopted dad had both parents. My grandma passed this passed June 16. She was 103. I see our elderly as our past history. An example my parents generation can tell us all about the draft during Vietnam as well as Flower power, the protests of the 60’s for civil rights as well as against the war. I have great respect for all. Now I will tell you a bit about my experience. I was an active EMT-D for 6 years from 1999-200.... I did attend LaGuardia Community College and took the nursing program. I have to admit there was a problem with nursing today, they really aren’t working with patients. Yes, IV’s are set, medications are given, but the nurse doesn’t bathe the patient, does not make the bed, how does the nurse know and interact with a patient. I have done private work before and never had a problem. I’ve taken patients to the local parks, if they are on a wheelchair, I’ve been given keys to the van. I have no driving tickets. I haven’t been in any car accidents. My insurance will say it was, my niece had the car. I can bathe, diapers, if needed, I’m very good with medication. I’m able to sort into pill boxes or if she needs to eat, I can cook. If you would like a couple of referrals, I’m much better with phone calls than reading emails. 917-288-....
