Elder Care in College Park, Maryland

Hello, I have been involved with caregiving at some level throughout my life. As a young woman I lived in the L'Arche community in Washington D. C., living among and serving the needs of developmentally disabled folks. I have a masters in divinity degree, and am active in my Church community. Recently, as my children are leaving the nest, I have started to work with elderly clients. My latest client has dementia, and I was able to work with her and her family, not only to take care of the daily needs that they had, but also to work with her and the family to improve her condition. My duties included, washing and bathing, transportation to medical and social activities, meal preparation, light housekeeping including laundry, and diabetes monitoring and medicine dispensing. I am looking for a part to full time, long term position, to care for someone in their home. I am also in the process of securing my GNA certification.
