My grandmother lived at my house with my mother and sisters and I for over 2 years, and just recently (April 2012) was put into a retirement home, she is 92 years old. She suffers from Alzheimer and is almost deaf, and therefore it is very difficult to understand her, and for her to understand you. However I developed was for us to communicate better, such as getting her a little white board that either she or I can write on. In addition she also needs all her meals prepared for her, however I know it must be hard loosing your independence so I always try to let her help me, whether it be measuring out dry ingredients, or even cutting vegetables, just to make her involved. I also love knitting, and we watch tv and knit together, she really loves this as she is the one who taught me to knit when I was little. I made her slippers this year.
