Elder Care in Toronto, Ontario

I have a background in Psychology, and I spent an internship period working in an Adult Day-Care Center. I've worked with elderly people by providing them conversation and company, playing board games, taking them out for walks, and assisting them with meals. I’ve also worked as a special needs children caregiver. My interest in aged care is a direct result of my inspiring grandma. She passed away last year at the age of 102, and despite her age, she was strong and very independent. I am concerned about older people's quality of life because I know we all are going to get old one day, and it would be fantastic that all elderly would receive the care they deserve in their later years. I believe elderly have such a great life experience and so many great stories to share. We should be more open to learning from their experiences, respect and care more for them. As far as I am concerned, I enjoy having long conversations with them, and I intend to be part of improving their future. When I started working with seniors, I found rewarding taking care of elderly people who want companionship and someone willing to show them patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to build a relationship with them.
