I enjoy working with seniors and have plenty of experience providing companionship, assistance, and care. I took a Family Caregiving Program that was designed for those who care for the elderly, ill, or disabled at home. The program covered home safety, assisting with personal care (including bathing), healthy eating, and caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or dementia. I volunteered at ARC Enterprises, which was a Health care facility. I worked with children and adults with physical and mental health complications. I helped prepare and serve meals according to instruction and assisted with feeding, helped patient with bathing, dressing, grooming, and with toileting. I assisted patients with movement using cane, walker, and wheelchair and monitored medication as specified on plan of care. I worked with speech, assisted with movement and physical activity, scheduled appointments with physical therapist, and other medical appointments. I also assisted clients in traveling outside the home or health care facility, allowing the patient to remain active in the community. I cared for patients in their homes as well. I changed bed linens, washed, ironed laundry and cleaned patient quarters. I purchased, prepared and served food for patient and other family members following special prescribed diets, assisted patient into and out of bed, automobile, wheelchair, and lavatory. I also Performed miscellaneous duties, as requested; purchasing household supplies and running errands I also observed and reported any sudden changes in the client's mental, physical, or emotional condition or home situation to the proper authorities.
