Elder Care in Vancouver, British Columbia

I'm an
Individual
Dear Host Family, Good Day! Its music to my ears if you call me Che for short. At home, Im simply called Mama by my three lovely children. I finished professional caregiving course at St. Augustine School of Nursing and my Bachelors Degree at Colegio de San Juan de Letran. I am honest, hardworking, fast learner and loves being with people. My had experiences of working in a prestigious firm and various part time jobs I got involved with, contributed me to become orderly, systematic and punctual. I value my time at work and the relationships with my colleagues. To be more effective, I prioritize tasks. This attitude was very helpful during my internship at East Avenue, Amisola Maternity, Tala for Leprosy patients and Jose Reyes Hospital where 6-7 patients with different health conditions were assigned under my care daily. I was privileged to help these patients with their needs by providing assistance with their bathing, dressing, oral hygiene and grooming to name a few. We had clinical rotation weekly; I was exposed to pediatrics, surgery, medicine wards and ICU. My day starts with daily bed making and changing, monitoring vital signs, taking MT and giving insulin shots for diabetic patients. In 2008, I took care of my mother who had a massive heart attack and was put in coma. I spent most of my time in the hospital for 2 months taking care of my mother. That includes giving her medicine, cleaning and changing her diapers, bathing; I also read books for her since she loves reading. I also play religious song since shes very active in our church. Also, I accompany her for her Dialysis. In 2011, I took care of my father in law who had stroke, I do the daily sponge bath, clothes changing, mouth care to keep a good hygiene. I accompany him to his therapy sessions and Im also in charge preparing for his meals. On that same year, I also took care of my in laws cousin, who had the same condition like my in law. Since I started doing part time jobs, I had more time with my twins. This became an opportunity for me to improve on my cooking and tutoring skills. We spent our time playing, reading, exercise together. We devote our Sunday morning hearing mass. I want to discuss out my experience and qualification in detail with you. Thank you for spending time and going through my letter. I look forward to hearing from you the soonest. Very Truly Yours, Che
