Elder Care in Loganville, Georgia

I'm an
Individual
Hi! My name is Judy. I am an educated, cheerful, kind, compassionate, caregiver. I am in my 50's. I have learned by personal experience that life doesn't measure up to our dreams and expectations, It frequently falls short. It can leave us feeling that we are alone in the midst of a storm. I like to meet people where they are at. Often that is during the most tempestuous time of their life. I love people! I have the ability to relate and help them get to an anchoring place where they can rest, re-assess and re-establish goals. Then comes acceptance and the ability to move forward in their life. It is a process and requires commitment and dedication on the part of family friends and caregivers working together. I have cared for all different types of clients and patients in the hospital setting. But I specialized in post operative care and patient teaching at Emory University Hospital. I focus on development of care plans , continuity of care and communication between caregivers. I am not currently licensed in GA as an RN. But I do have the experience, skills and knowledge base from which I draw. I am aware of the need to maintain a pleasant, safe and therapeutic environment for clients with an eye always on the desired outcome. I relate well to individualized situations no matter the age, abilities or diagnosis. I believe all relationships whether personal or professional can contribute positively to my life. Therefore, all people have value. I have reached a place in my own life of acknowledging the fact that the goals I'd set for myself have reached a natural conclusion. I am no longer needed to be " mommy"! I have raised my boys to be young men. The oldest I nursed through his battle and death due to childhood cancer. One is in medical school at Temple University. One work with his psychology degree developing and training mentors for at-risk school age children. My youngest is getting his education in nursing in pediatric oncology. I consider their successes to be my reward for a job well done. I approach each responsibility in life with this same dogged determination. You can feel confident that your loved one will be treated with the same level of commitment and respect. I love to laugh! I had a long period in my life when happiness was elusive. Life was hard after losing my son. I felt abandoned and alone even among family and friends. I have searched for and re-discovered my source of Joy again. I have fun sharing this joy and laughter. Especially with others whom are also looking to find joy again. I enjoy cooking. I like to play board games and enjoy cards when reacquainted with the rules. I love jigsaw puzzles, walks outdoors, sight seeing, exploring books and talking. every body has a story to tell. I have a vehicle but it is just transportation. It is not lovely to behold, unless you have no transportation! If you have a vehicle available to transport your loved one to appointments, shopping hair salons (or barbers) or social events I have an excellent driving record and current Ga divers license. This is a task that I will be careful to treat your trust with respect. I will be happy to shuttle your loved one wherever necessary. I am not a technology wizard but am learning to navigate even that field. I enjoy church. services and eating out and meeting new friends. I grew p with four sisters. We learned to do each others fingernail, hair and makeup. I call it "pretty-fying" some call it painting the barn. although by no means a cosmetologist, I'll gladly extend an offer to anyone who just wants to feel pretty (or handsome) for the day. I can be trusted with the care of your loved one. If this is the quality of care you wish for your loved one, give me a call.
