Day Opportunities Program My Day My Way Day Support Services, Day Opportunities Program was established to modernize and reform day services to enable adults with a developmental disability to access community based day services instead of building-based day services. Our community-based inclusion services offer opportunities for life skill development, community involvement, and vocational and recreational activities within the community. These are explored on an individual basis, and supports are available to enable the person to participate in meaningful and interesting activities including: 1. Recreational activities 2. Supported employment 3. Volunteering 4. Further education This can include: enjoying social, fun or spiritual activities: playing sports, getting involved with a house of worship, trying a hobby or community activity, meeting with other adults who have similar needs and interests as part of a group program in the community; developing self-help skills: getting help with things like learning to brush teeth, get dressed, ride the bus and go shopping in order to become more independent; continuing to learn after high school: taking a course, volunteering, using public libraries or participating in activities at a community centre; Volunteering or preparing for a job: practicing work-related tasks or skills to succeed at work or as a volunteer. Services are provided during the traditional hours of 9:00am to 3:00pm from Monday to Friday closed on weekends and statutory holidays) *All Support Services will include Personal Care, if required, including: Feeding Shampoo, Skin Care, Grooming Dressing, Undressing Bathing & Shower Assistance Incontinence Care Use of Mechanical Lifts, Gait Belts, & Other Assistive Devices Cognitive impairment and Behaviour Management Support Mobility Medication reminders Non-medical palliative care Meal Preparation Companionship ****Passport Funding Welcomed
