Overview: Hello, my name is Jennifer. I'm looking for a senior care provider job in Palm Beach county, Florida. I have worked as a care provider all of my life in differing age levels. I have been a teacher for 20 years educating and providing care to the youngest of our community. Since then I have had the opportunity to provide part time care to my own grandmother, and then full-time care for my own mother. Caring for my grandma was a privilege as well as a breeze. Her needs consisted of preparing meals, making Dr appointments as well as driving her, and taking her to social events. I provided minor personal care such as brushing and doing her hair and nails, medication reminders, bath help as well as light exercise routines. Caring for my mom was full-time and more inclusive. I moved her in with me and provided her with every aspect of her care including preparing meals, medication 3x daily, colostomy needs, bathing, monitoring blood pressure, making and taking to Dr appointments, exercise, etc. I kept notes of her vitals as well as her progress with differing medications dealing with her dementia. Personal safety was a number one daily goal, as well as keeping her happy and occupied with activities that she enjoyed. I love caring for all age groups but find I especially am good at and enjoy providing for the needs of an elderly person. I welcome any and all types of situations as I am knowledgeable, capable, as well as willing to care for people with all types of needs. I am very easy to get along with, and am personable. I love to laugh, and it brings me pleasure to put a smile on a person's face. The elderly have lived longer, learned more and deserve to be cared for and interacted with the utmost of respect. Personally, I get a lot of satisfaction just sitting and listening to the stories of their lives in "the good ole days" lol! Basically to me, caring for someone must include physical needs, but also social, as well as the emotional needs too. I am a person of whom takes pride in providing for all my client's needs. By day 1, they are no longer a client, but are cared for like a friend and a family member.
