Elder Care Job in Kanata, Ontario

We require a fully qualified, self-employed PSW or Senior Health Care Aide who has extensive experience working with seniors with advanced stage Dementia/Alzheimer's. Such individual will support a female senior who lives in a Long Term Care facility in Stittsville, and who requires assistance with feeding (both physical & verbal prompting), frequent walking (2-wheeled walker), and physio therapy-type activities such as chair yoga. Other activities will include engaging this senior in music & cognitive stimulation activities as provided by the LTC’s Recreational Therapy Dept.,e.g., concerts, crafts, etc. We require an elder care provider who is compassionate and demonstrates perseverance in appropriately and successfully achieving these goals. Hours of care needed are from 11:00am-7:00pm, 5 days/wk. (not necessarily Mon.-Fri.). We are trying to establish a doctor recommended routine for day time activity, eating, and sleeping for this senior, and so the required hours for this support plan are subject to change and flexibility.
