I have worked in the nursing home setting for a number of years. I am very comfortable with working such mature ones. One thing I really take pride in is assisting the individual without stripping him/her of their dignity. Despite growing older, these individuals deserve and actually has the right to be given dignity and respect. The elderly are considered as pure gold in my eyes no matter the challenge and is to be treated with compassion and care. I have been through a number of experiences be it working with a person with Alzheimer's Dementia and understanding the process to working with a person who has both physical and mental limitations. CPR training is included. I am bilingual and can communicate with those who are nonverbal regardless if they are hearing or deaf.
