8 MAR 2017 To Whom It May Concern: I was recently honored and delighted to be requested to provide a recommendation for Mrs. Dorothy (Dot) Johnson as an elderly health care provider. I knew from the very first day I met Mrs. Johnson, she was a very compassionate, caring, and special individual. It was then Dot announced that she was able to successfully assist a stranger, earlier that day, in a medical emergency, resulting in saving the stranger’s life. I was very impressed and moved by the story. I’ve lived as a neighbor to The Johnson’s for well over a year now, and all the while, witnessed Dot’s selflessness, compassion, and caring qualities, which she has demonstrated toward all, time and time again. One of our neighbors, Mrs. Moatz, was an 85-year-old resident, whose son and daughter were struggling to provide the care required to adequately assist their mother. Dot, unsolicited, immediately stepped in to assist Mrs. Moatz in anyway necessary to improve the elderly women’s quality of life. After 5 heart surgeries, Mrs. Moatz was confined to a walker, and informed would not be able to ever walk again. Dot assisted the elderly woman in every manner possible, boosting Mrs. Moatz attitude and body in her recovery. The most obvious and helpful aid Dot provided in assisting Mrs. Moatz, was daily changing her leg dressings, including the thorough cleaning and flushing of her leg wounds with Epsom salts and warm water. Mrs. Johnson’s demonstrated diligence and relentless perseverance to her patient Mrs. Moatz, resulted in Mrs. Moatz eventually using the walker by herself, and later walking without the walker. Success! I would vehemently insist on securing the services of Dot Johnson, for the health care of any of my ailing and elderly friends and family, without hesitation. Dorothy instinctively goes above and beyond all duties assigned and required, and certainly more than any other elderly care giver I ever experienced in the past (that includes her meticulous housekeeping prowess). Please consider this correspondence and recommendation as a big “Thumbs up” and “Hats off” to Dorothy, and I strongly believe she should be considered as a valuable and irreplaceable asset in any caring giving role.
