Elder Care in Mississauga, Ontario

My name is Emily. I am currently a 20 year old girl, residing in central Mississauga. In the past I have had lots of experience caring for family, friends, families friends, and strangers through several experiences that have taught me how to passionately care for those whom can not care for themselves. Though I have not gotten my formal PSW certificate, I was able to be taught through a co-op program at a home for people with severe Dementia on how to properly care for those who need it most. I was taught everything from bathing to feeding to preparing foods and making beds. Some of my duties including reading to the residents, feeding them based off of their needs (i.e, pureed, spoon fed only, ect.), took them on walks, spoke with family to find out what activities they enjoy best, and cared for them in a way a lot of people can not. I bonded with so many people and got a beautiful experience in working there. I also did some palliative care, and although it was sad, it was also so calming to their families knowing they were getting sung to, tucked in, and fully taken care of by myself, who happened to care so dearly for them. I also took care of a dear family friend for the last several months of her life as her body deteriorated from Cancer. I am very genuine in my work and can assure you I bring nothing but love and admiration to the people I look after.
