Elder Care in White Rock, British Columbia

Hello my name is Shannen. I currently work in a field where I coordinate programs for the health and well being of seniors with a well known organization in the area. Criminal Record check and excellent references available. I am looking to provide light housekeeping, food prep, companionship, pet walking and care, and errand running. I am able to offer a morning to afternoon shift on Sat (9-3) and 1 evening a week (Mon, Tues or Thurs) from 4:30- 8 or 9. I am looking for some flexible part time work in the SS/ White Rock area specifically focused on improving the lives of seniors. I am happy to work alone or as part of a team of care. I am not certified as a caregiver but have extensive experience caring for seniors in my personal life(both my grandmother and my mother in law) as well as my current full time role . I have experience with wheelchair transfers (although it has been awhile) and with medication reminders. I am a cheerful positive person that is happy to advocate for you and be your friend. I know what loneliness feels like and I feel that during Covid more people are starting to understand the isolation that many seniors live with. I am 100% reliable and know how important having someone you can count on is. I am a loving, considerate and hardworking woman who is also a mother and daughter and knows how important the role of a caregiver is to your health and well being. I genuinely love being a part of the lives of seniors and am up for great chats.I also am familiar with pensions, navigating government agencies and cutting through red tape and am happy to assist with any challenges that may pop up. I am here to lend a hand whether it is a small task or a larger one. I am also a pretty good cook and baker and am happy to prep the food for dishes that you are feeling nostalgic for. I am a horrible card player but great at scrabble:) My per hour charge would increase to $28 if I am working with a senior with dementia elements.
