Elder Care in Staunton, Virginia

Hello, My name is Lorraine I am a care provider and student at Blue Ridge Community College, Studying Human Services. I am new to Virginia. I am from Detroit, MI I moved to Staunton, VA in July of this year. I have lived here only 3 months now. I like Virginia its nothing like Detroit at all. I came here to get a fresh start, in a new town. In Detroit, I worked as a live in caregiver for Rescare Homecare. The last employer was Kranur Manor. Kranur is a licensed group home in Flint, Michigan. I worked as a Direct care Worker who provided personal in home service care for a group of 6 elderly female residents. I am a gourmet chef also. I studied culinary art at Mott Community College of Flint, MI I prepared and served all meals and snacks for residents. I assisted with personal care, toilet wheel chair, walker transfer with gait belt, and hoyer lift when needed I am also trained in CPR & First Aid. I was also trained to pass medication. It was a requirement for my position at Kranur. I have 16 years experience as a caregiver, and provider. I am very attentive to the needs of the clients and always give them tender loving care. I give quality care to every client. I am very good at what I do, and I love this job. I find it rewarding because I know I am providing a service to help those in need who really appreciate what I do form them. I do It from the heart! You can't be a good caregiver unless you have a heart for the clients you provide care for. I care, that is why I became a caregiver.
