Elder Care Job in Southington, Connecticut

My father has late stage Parkinson s. He cannot walk or lift his arms. My mother has been his caregiver but is now failing in health as well and is no longer able to take care of him. She has had him in the ER several times since the not walking is just began last week. They could find nothing wrong other than his Parkison's is causing him to freeze. He also has some dementia. He is in bed and cannot get himself up and my mother does not have the strength anymore. They live on their Social Security and have Medicare. The hospital has told her that he does not qualify for Hospice because his "vital signs" are good. I have read that Hospice is for the terminally ill and also late stage Parkison's. So I don't understand why he does not qualify. They also need help getting him to his doctor. Dial A Ride is only for those who have SSDI. I live in Texas and am unable to help because my husband recently had a stroke and we are waiting for his SSDI to be approved, we lost our home and are living with family. I was able to find someone to pay for me to fly home to CT so I can be with my mother and help get something arranged. But I will not be paid from my employer for this time off. I desperately need information on what can be done.
