Elder Care in Birmingham, Alabama

I'm an
Individual
Hello my name is Alexis. I'm interviewing for an elderly caregiver position in Birmingham, Alabama. I aim to contribute my abilities as an elderly caregiver. My schedule tends to be flexible, as I understand varying needs. Services And Training: I am comfortable doing social support, cleaning and dressing wounds, as well as other various medical responsibilities. Other skills include help with mental health, emotional support and encouragement, and tend to form personal bonds with my charges. I have personal transportation available as I own my own vehicle and have a perfect driving record. I've never had an accident, nor have I ever received a ticket. I have a varied background as a home care giver ranging from special needs children and teens, elderly care in all stages of health, declining health, as well as the end. I'm great in emergencies and operate calmly and efficiently to navigate through them. I have experience with the mentally ill and provide a watchful yet comforting and safe space for them as well as activities and coping skills if they should show interest. I also have a background in veterinary medicine as a technologist where I performed multiple procedures, administered medications, and provided the services to our voiceless companions any nurse would provide a patient. What I am looking for in an employment opportunity is someone who not only needs to be physically cared for, but also someone who would enjoy companionship as well. My true calling is to serve others, and I carry each one I've had the privilege of helping in my heart. Contacting Me: Text, call, e-mail, I'll be happy to hear from you and answer any questions you may have.

Alexis B has been an indispensable part of my mother’s and my own life for well over a year. My mother started having extreme vertigo about two years ago along with severe bipolar disorder and physical disabilities. When the vertigo started she had suffered several falls resulting in concussions. I needed to work to keep us afloat and at the same time I needed to be with my mother almost full time. I found out about Alexis through a friend and after we met and talked I agreed to have her stay with my mother a couple days a week. After seeing how far above and beyond she was willing to go to help my mother I was lucky enough to be able to have her stay with my mother for most of the week. She helped my mother get around as needed, helped with her medication, sat with her on days when my mother’s bipolar wouldn’t allow her to get out of bed. She took care of my mother’s pets, grocery shopping, meals, and anything at all that the family needed. It allowed me the time to work and save money so that I could find a more livable situation. She came along and helped our family when I honestly didn’t know where to turn. My mother and I both are and will always be eternally grateful. She even still stops by just to say hello to her and see how she is. She has become as much apart of our family as anyone else. She is one of those people that you never expect to meet but after knowing her you will never forget.
