Hard working, dependable, caring, and supportive are just a few of the adjectives to describe Joyceyn Henderson. Joycelyn served as my mother's primary caregiver, after she had her stroke on April 15, 2012. In this capacity, Joycelyn served as an independent contractor providing sitter services for our family. Joycelyn’s sitter services started April 30, 2012, until my mother’s death on July 30, 2018. During this Six-and-a-half-year time period, Joycelyn personally cared for my mother by doing the following: 1) bathing her; 2) ensured that she had clean clothing; 3) took her to the doctor when needed; 4) ensured that she timely received her medication; 5) provided daily interaction for mental stimulation; 6) ensured that she ate her meals daily; and, 7) coordinated other sitters when needed to ensure that my mother received proper 24-hour care. When outside services were provided by the home health agency and Hospice, Joycelyn worked closely with the medical team to ensure that my mother’s care was in compliance with the doctor’s orders. She coordinated the nurse and aide visits to the home. If there was a problem or medical need, Joycelyn contacted Hospice for proper coordination and solution. Joycelyn was a life saver to our family. I am sure if given the opportunity, she would provide the same level of care and services to other patients who need home health services.
