Hello there! My name is Devin and I hope to hear from you about adult care in your family this summer. I am currently a first year, compressed program, nursing student, who will be completing my Personal Support Worker requirements as of April 2nd once my clinical hours are completed. I have frequently done personal/hygiene care for clients I have worked with in long-term care facilities, as well as feeding assistance, and other tasks that I would be more than willing to describe in more detail for you. I believe the aspect of my nursing background and future will be beneficial to the adult care you seek. Specifically, I have a unique perspective that provides me a deeper understanding of the constant assessment and care that is needed for caring for adults, and an enjoyment and genuine interest in doing so. Additionally, my nursing aspect helps to confirm that I am very willing to learn as much as possible about your families specific needs for adult care, and will try to do as much as possible to accommodate such for you. I have experience caring for adults in my clinical placements at long-term care facilities this year. I have provided a significant amount of personal/hygiene care, feeding assistance. and vital measurements (blood pressure, pulse, etc.) at these facilities. Additionally, as a nursing student, we focus a lot on the importance of assessing clients on a daily basis to ensure that their health is maintained at an optimal level for each client, and have had experience with this as well. We have also completed our medication section that allows us to provide medication/blister packs to our clients as per doctor's orders and ensure that our clients are taking these medications. I have also completed further tasks, and would be more than willing to describe any in more detail upon request.
