I have known Bonnie for 5 years. She is dedicated, loving, and kind. I’ve seen her become another member of the family she babysits for. Bonnie is trustworthy and hardworking. I trust her with the two people most dear to me- my children. Any family will be lucky to have Bonnie in their lives. I know that we are!

It was with great pleasure, and also some sadness, that I write a letter of recommendation for Bonnie Lauby. Bonnie has been my family’s nanny for 7.5 years and has become a loved and highly trusted member of our family. I have a 7 year old daughter, Abbey, and a 5 year old son, Brennan, and she has cared for both of them since birth. Bonnie’s framework for responsibilities/schedule include: Care for our children Tuesday – Friday, from 7:30am – 6pm, and running our household during that time. Caring for our children doesn’t come close to describing what Bonnie does. Her household duties have included: running errands – grocery store, post office, UPS drop off, Target. There are times when we ask her to do specific tasks, and other times when she sees/knows what needs to be done (running low on milk) and just runs to the store to get milk. It’s extremely helpful to have an extra set of hands to tackle these tasks. In addition, she is tidy – we come home to a picked up home every evening; there are never dishes left in the sink and the dishwasher is always unloaded. If the trash is full, she empties it – we don’t have to ask for these types of tasks, she simply does them. In addition, she is responsible for the children’s laundry on a weekly basis. When caring for our children, Bonnie always puts them first. She is incredibly devoted to raising my children with love and compassion, while being comfortable enough to be firm and strict when they need it. We quickly aligned on our parenting expectations, and she has handled every situation to our satisfaction. In fact, we definitely have learned from her over the past 7 years, as she has the experience of raising 4 children of her own to draw from. We’ve often seen her way of handling situations and realized we needed to adjust our own style or way of working through situations. Bonnie’s greatest attributes are: trustworthiness, dependability, flexibility, patience, loving, caring. In 7 years, I think she took one sick day and was never late. Her reliability is unheard of today. While she had a consistent schedule, she was always very flexible and accommodating to stay later when needed, and in a pinch, she would do whatever necessary to help us out. The fact that I never had to stress about her schedule or whether she would be here on time provided so much peace of mind for a working parent and I’m incredibly appreciative. We trust her with our greatest loves, Abbey and Brennan, and she never let us down. Imagining our world without Bonnie as a daily part of it is tough; we will certainly miss her daily presence in our lives. And, we are excited for the next step in her journey, as a move to the Cincinnati-area will coincide with the birth of her first grandchild. That grandchild is one lucky baby! I have no doubt that Bonnie is a permanent part of our family and will stay in touch over the years; my children love her very much and also treat her children like their own big siblings. It is with great pleasure that I recommend Bonnie to love and care for the next person in need of her care!
