Elder Care in Brea, California

I have been a teacher for 15 years. I am in grad school to become a speech language pathologist. We work on speech and cognition for the elderly as well as general public. Currently, I am doing my rotation in a skilled nursing facilty, acute rehab where I work on people's speech and cognition ranging from orientation, memory, aphasia (word searching), apraxia (knowing what you want to say but can't motorically say it). Many of my clients are stroke victims or traumatic brain injuries, or head injuries from falls. I am 4 months away from being fully licensed by the state of california and have already passed my licensing exam ( I just need to finish my clinical hours). What I can do to help: keep house in order, get groceries, pay bills, house maintenance, make sure they are not being defrauded by companies that pray on elderly, make sure they are getting services they are entitled under medicare or medicaid, screen providers to make sure they are licensed, responsible and trustworthy. I am a mother to a 5 year old and will pick him up at preschool then bring him home with me to stay with you. It would be ideal to be in a separate part of the house or most preferable a back house to live in. I currently live in Brea.
