My current part time work includes caregiver for a PharmD, recent work included part time concierge nurse for a retired Colonel/Doctor and his wife, as well as his Stepfather who was a cancer patient, caregiver for a NFRMC Anesthesiologist, 2 UF Doctors, 2 UF Veterinarians, a VA Scientist, several UF Professors. UF Shands IT analyst and 2 VA professionals. I've spent 30 years in various nursing fields in facilities and private care working extensively with Geriatric Patients having conditions such as Alzheimer's, Oncology/Hematology, Neuro Injuries/Rehab Services. I've worked cases of Infants with premature birth & failure to thrive. I was employed as Health Care Supervisor, Assistant Health and Safety Director for the American Red Cross assisting in Teaching CPR, First aid and Disaster Preparedness as well as supervising Challenge Testing for Health Care Professional, Paramedics and Physicians. I have also worked as Activities Director for the Salvation Army's after school and summer youth programs for children at high risk and as Activities Supervisor for the Henderson Housing Authority working with the elderly in a program for Senior Citizens and Disabled Individuals. I have worked as a Program Tech for a MRDD program with Helen Keller Pilot program teaching coactive signing, Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities and with premature babies having failure to thrive. I would highly recommend Sherry S. for home care as she was such a blessing to find in taking care of my 88 year old Mother who was immobile and weak, suffering from advanced dementia. Sherry was easy to work with and kind, very knowledgeable about care and what needed to be done. She was so kind to not only my Mother but also to myself and became a dear friend. She was giving of her time and made such efforts that go beyond what was expected of her. She even recommended another caregiver as a backup and Carla was also a true Godsend. I trusted Sherry completely and it felt comforting to know Mom was in good hands when I was away at work during the day. Sherry was with me and offered to stay nights when Mom was close to passing. Sherry was there with me and Mom the day she passed and it was amazing to have that type of care and support during the time it was most needed.
