Elder Care Job in Montréal - Ouest, Quebec

Job Posting: Hello my name is Chris. We are seeking a part time senior care provider for our beloved Grandmother. For decades she has lived in her own home near the Loyola Campus of Concordia University, which is situated in the west end of Montréal. My grandmother has always been independent and is still living in her own residence at age 102. We hope to find one or two people to visit her home regularly to provide some companionship and provide simple services. Services and Training: Our first wish is for someone with an upbeat spirit and who can assist in maintaining the household. Food, in particular, and also to honour our grandmother's independence and routines. Your special strenghts include an ability to talk clearly and simply (her hearing is compromised), patience to listen, as she has gotten slower to express herself; preparing/serving food and cleaning up afterwards, plus keeping the refrigerator and medication organized. Light houskeeping duties include: laundry, some vacuuming, tidying the kitchen, bedroom and sorting the mail (so that advertisements are discarded and the real mail is set aside). Perhaps a visit to the doctor every now and then, when/if this is even possible. The best-possible employee will be one who will feel satisfaction at being able to make a difference for a capable and loving woman as aging diminishes her ability to manage completely on her own. We would prefer that you have at least a year of experience and be a 'care giver' at heart. We are new to ElderCare, so are not too familiar with how this next step works, but we would appreciate being able to connect with possible applicants.
