Elder Care Job in Toronto, Ontario

Lovely couple in their mid-70s is looking for a professional, knowledgeable, respectful and kind live-in PSW for long-term employment. The ideal candidate is a trained PSW who has experience working with the elderly with both cognitive and physical disabilities. A valid Ontario driver's licence is a plus. Experience with Parkinson's patients is a plus. Responsibilities: • Primary care is for the husband, who has Parkinson's disease and is in a wheelchair • Responsible for bathing, personal care, exercise and administering medication • Help with appointments, outings and transportation • Light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, groceries, errands • Secondary care is for the wife, whose health is starting to decline. She does not need general personal care but will require occasional short-term attention and general help around the house • Willingness to travel is preferred Terms of Employment: • Meals provided • Salary negotiable • Days off/vacation negotiable • This is a live-in position, Monday-Friday Location: • Mid-town Toronto (St.Clair and Spadina, next to St. Clair W. subway station) • Large condo • Internet access • Employee would have their own bedroom and bathroom We are looking for someone to fill the role immediately.
