I am a 70-year-old woman who needs assistance with all activities of daily living. I want someone who will provide punctual, reliable, flexible and dependable personal care. I need someone who has good bedside and personal care skills. I am looking for a qualified candidate who identifies as male, female, or anyone in the LGBTQIA2S . I welcome applications from Indigenous Peoples, Persons with a Disability, Newcomers to Canada and Asylum seekers with valid work permits. Due to Respiratory Problems only applications from non-smokers will be considered. Duties • Provide personal care services including bathing, grooming, and dressing assistance. • Assist with catheter care and bowel incontinence. • Assist with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met. • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor the client for any side effects or changes in condition. • Offer companionship and engage client in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being. • Assist with mobility (driving a power wheelchair) and transfers using a mechanical lift • Maintain a clean and organized living space for client, ensuring hygiene standards are upheld. • Support client with dementia care or other cognitive impairments through patience and understanding. • Collaborate with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed. • Document daily activities and any changes in the client's condition accurately. • Accompany client to all medical and social appointments using para-transit or client's wheelchair-accessible van. Qualifications • Minimal educational requirement is the completion of Grade 12 and a College Certificate/Diploma in a Caregiving Course (e.g. Healthcare Aide, Personal Support Worker) or a Nursing Degree. • Minimum of 2 months experience in caregiving for elderly individuals who are disabled. • Knowledge of senior care best practices, including medication administration and meal preparation. • Compassionate demeanor with strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with client. • Understanding of working with persons with disabilities. • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed. • Certification in CPR/First Aid is mandatory.
