Elder Care Job in Alexandria, Virginia

Job Posting: I hope you are having a good day. I'm looking to employ a CNA in Alexandria, Virginia. I aim to hire a seasoned, skillful individual who has full-time availability. Someone with experience with ADL care for a wheelchair bound person would be truly perfect. I would like to do three days a week for your training period and go up to five days a week once you are fully on board. This can be discussed/modified based on the caregiver, I am just looking to make the transition as seamless as possible! Patient is from Africa and speaks Creole as well as English fluently. Family is in the area and will check in with you periodically for updates and to be of assistance. Your day will involve assisting in turns in bed, Hoyer transfer, heating pre made meals, sweeping, dressing patient (family bathes me), talking/companion care, taking blood pressure, preparing me for Metro Access trips and reporting changes in status to my daughter. My daughter can train just about anyone and prides herself on assisting the caregivers to get through the day. I want to find someone who will step up and finish the tasks that my family asks of them! Service Requirements: CNA license or CNA-style experience. This is ideal but not mandatory. I am happy to train those who don't have nursing home or hospital experience. Hoyer Lift will be used in the position. Again desirable for candidate to have in advance but can train on the skill. I'd love a caregiver who doesn't live on her phone! I know it is 2018, and emergencies can and should be handled - but shooting the breeze with your girlfriends during work hours isn't an emergency. Please be reasonable and respectful and our family will surely do the same. Attention to Detail - you will have vitals to take and check off style forms to complete throughout the day- please do this! Notes On Availability: We can be flexible for the right candidate.
