Weigh, lift, turn and position patients. Supervise patients' exercise routines. Maintain inventory of supplies. Transport patients between care facilities. Answer call signals. Accompany patients on outside recreational activities and perform other duties related to patient care and comfort. Administer first aid in emergency situations. May perform routine health-related duties such as changing non-sterile dressings, assisting in the administration of medications and collecting specimens under the general direction of home care agency supervisor or nurse. May perform routine housekeeping duties such as laundry, washing dishes and making beds. Requirements: Education: Some secondary school education and on-the-job training or a personal support worker, nursing aide or health care aide college or private institutional program, or a college nursing orderly program and supervised practical training are required. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid is required. On-the-job training is provided. Experience: 1 year of experience in the field is required. Driver’s license is an asset. Work Setting: Group home Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment; Work under pressure; Repetitive tasks; Physically demanding; Attention to detail; Standing for extended periods; Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling. Weight handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs). Important Information The schedule is from Monday to Friday from 7h00 to 15h00. Work on weekends and overtime may be required. Flexibility in schedule is required.
