Elder Care Job in Ajax, Ontario

Job Description: Nice to meet you! My name is Aimee. I am hiring an in home caregiver available in Scarborough or Ajax, Ontario to care for my 81 year old mother. Seeking a caring, compassionate occasional overnight caregiver/personal support worker and companion for a happy, personable elderly woman who is walker-dependent, with typical age-related health and memory issues (dementia). May lead to a more permanent position. We are located in North Ajax. The home has a happy dog, you must be pet-friendly. Duties include: preparing nutritious meals - medication monitoring, assistance with showering and dressing, daily outdoor walks (weather permitting), laundry, ensuring clean bedding and a safe, clean environment. On rare occasions, you may be required to assist in some housekeeping around the entire house - pet care - trash and recycling duties -occasional social outings - shopping and errands. We are looking for someone to keep her safe and engaged, away from excessive TV, and generally keep her company with stimulating conversation and encouragement. Must be able to speak and read English, (non-native speaker, OK). References and First-aid certification required. Certified PSW preferred but may consider non-certified if the fit is right. Rate range: $14-15/hr.
