Elder Care Job in Calgary, Alberta

I'm Cynthia, I'm looking for someone to provide companion services to my dad who now resides at Harvest Hills Dementia Care Home. Must be an ENERGETIC, dependable, personable, compassionate and reliable individual with required skills, patience and empathy. We want a person who will stimulate and interact with dad and do different activities each shift- not just sit idly with him. Ideally we would like someone who can come to the home and spend several (up to 5) shifts a week for one on one time with dad in the AM (10 to 12:30) or PM (2:30 to 4:30) or even some evenings. We require one consistent person - not an agency that sends a different person every visit. Primary Requirements: • Help EVERY visit with his daily physical work outs / exercises / stretching / massaging • Helping with Stimulating activities - reading / wordsearch / math problems / playing cards - making phone calls/ helping with the iPad - Doing activities on the Interactive TV at the care home - Looking at pictures / reading to him - Discuss current events / Help him listen to music - Take him outside (within the care home garden) if weather permits Thank you.
