Are you compassionate and reliable with a passion for elder care? Our family in Montreal, Quebec is seeking an experienced live-in part-time companion to provide compassionate home care for our elderly parents (80 and 84), both of whom are physically self-sufficient but due to early stages of cognitive decline and lack of driver's licenses, require part-time supervision and support with administrative tasks such as attending medical appointments, keeping mealtimes, etc. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organized, pleasant, and tactful person who is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for an aging family member. Someone who would be there on a live-out or live-in basis but work, flexibly, around 20 hours a week. We are offering a competitive hourly rate of $21.00, and a warm, welcoming environment, with comfortable living arrangements (own bedroom and bathroom) in a fairly central location in the city. The ideal candidate should have previous experience in elder care, be able to provide companionship and assist with daily activities, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders, accompanying to 2-3 doctor's appointments per week and grocery shopping. Additionally, candidates should possess excellent communication skills and be able to engage in meaningful conversations (preferably both in English and French), relay information to the couple's children, and be comfortable communicating via text message, email, and shared electronic calendar. This is a live-in position for someone who already has the necessary permissions to live and work in Canada.
