Elder Care Job in Calgary, Alberta

We are looking for a strong physically able PSW/caregiver to assist our elderly father, who is undergoing a him replacement surgery in October in Calgary. • Age – 85 -year-old, Height - 5’2”, Weight- Approximately 120lbs • PSW must have experience in transfers and the ability to provide assistance when walking. DAILY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITY Able to handle a patient's height and weight during transfers and walking up/down stairs Assistance with grooming & bathing Assistance with toileting • Must have a passion to work with the elderly and a positive attitude. • Must be able to motivate, encourage and converse with the patient - Light housekeeping tasks (washroom cleaning dusting, vacuuming and mopping) & light meal preparation assistance (ie. Cutting vegetables) when patient doesn’t need care Hourly: $17-20/hr or fixed salary Live-in ideal for October 1 - mid November Required: • First Aid/CPR • Police Check Vulnerable Sector • COVID -19 (Must be Fully Vaccinated, including booster) • An asset if you have a background in • Physiotherapy/Kinesiology • Nursing • Coaching/Motivation Activities (will be explained in more detail in person): • Morning showers for father • Stretching of muscles, legs, arms massage • Exercise with the patient Dexterity movements • Job Location: Calgary, AB Please text: 416-7101...... to setup appointment and email your resume to ...@gmail.com
