It is with great anticipation that I present to you my candidature for a position as Personal Care Attendant. As you will note, in addition to earning my Social Services Worker Diploma, I have 8 years of experience working with at risk children & youth living in poverty as well as individuals with special needs and mental health disabilities. I have a great desire for lifelong learning and improving my acquired skills and knowledge. I’m looking for something that will challenge me personally and professionally and I strongly believe that I can be an asset to your team. My former employments, my current experience and my field of studies have enabled me to develop a strong sense of community. I have over 12000 hours of volunteering served in the community. I am very passionate, organized and can work very well independently and as part of a team environment. I am currently employed by Innovative Community Support Services where my responsibilities are based on ensuring safety and meeting basic needs of all individuals who require assistance in a residential setting. I currently work overnight asleep shifts; I believe that my availability during the daytime would make me an asset for this position. I am also on the Board of Directors of Exceed All Expectations as a founding member of the non-profit charitable organization, where Academic and Leadership support services are provided to at-risk youth living in poverty in Ottawa. I believe that serving the community we live in is very important and hold a strong value to helping others and always putting 110% to every task I take on. Thank you for considering my application.
