Elder Care Job in Courtenay, British Columbia

I am looking for a mature individual who has completed a caregiver training course and has a valid first aid certificate. The individual will provide assistance to my father who is residing in his own home. He is a paraplegic who uses a stationary transfer and has other mobility , including an accessible van. There is no manual transferring. My dad also needs some assistance with personal care. He still is able to shave and complete some of his personal hygiene on his own. The support worker also prepares meals, shops for groceries, maintains the cleanliness of the home, and other basic support services. My dad is very social; he has many friends and family who visit. He enjoys reading, watching news, and telling stories! The support worker will work 3 days per week from 8:30am - 7:30pm with a one hour unpaid break. In addition, the support worker will remain in the home over night on scheduled days of work. Salary: $16 - $17.50 per hour plus 6% vacation pay In-home support services are required for my senior father who is a paraplegic. Assistance is needed to use a stationary lift and other mobility assistance is necessary.
