Elder Care in Scarborough, Ontario

Joanne Caridad was employed as a caregiver in the home for my 91 year old mother. My mother was bedridden with end stage dementia. Her duties included general care needs such as bathing, skin care, toileting, feeding, dressing, and also the use of a Hoyer Lift. As my mother could be quite challenging (as she was no longer verbal and sometimes was agitated), and could communicate only with sounds and body language, it took a lot of patience, close observation, and being proactive to determine what her needs might be. This, Joanne did very well, and I was impressed to see how patient, gentle, but also how determined and persistent she was in never giving up, and how well my mother responded to her. Also, she worked with a team of other caregivers, and she was a very good team member. As a family physician myself, I have had many experiences working with allied health professionals, and I was very impressed with her abilities, as well as her enthusiasm, character, and integrity. In summary, Joanne Caridad was an extremely conscientious, responsible and excellent personal support worker. I would give her my highest recommendation
