March 06, 2018 Hello Sir/ Madam: I am submitting my application for a Personal Support Worker position as posted at Indeed website. I am an Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN's) from the Philippines, with a Registered Nurse credentials assessment from the College of Nurse’s in Ontario (CNO). I just completed my Registered Nurse Certificate Program at George Brown College’s Bridging Certificate Program with 600 hours of Clinical Placement position at Bridgepoint Hospital and Sunnybrook Hospital respectively. I am also a Level 1 Wound Care Provider, and I am a Hospice and Palliative care volunteer as well. I am presently connected with an agency that provides PSW floor duty work at St.Joseph’s Hospital Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital and Toronto General Hospital respectively. I have experienced working as an on-call casual Personal Support Worker in a Retirement and Nursing Home where I provided a caring nature, warmth, compassion and critical thinking skills. I continually updated myself from courses particularly in Patient Care and Management, courses from the Ministry of Health Long Term Care Standard Acts, courses from Ontario Association of Non-profit Housing and Services for Seniors and Webinars PSW courses especially the importance of RAI-MDS in Nursing and Long-term care facilities. With the knowledge and skills learned both from my working experience and these courses, this will help me carry out the jobs task and responsibility efficiently, and diligently. My experience with adults and eldercare included: Help clients or residents with the Activities of Daily Living • Perform personal care activities; hygiene, ambulation, eating, dressing, toileting and shaving • Talk and give company to clients and participate in resident activities • Prepare hygienic meals and snacks for clients • Provide clients or residents with transfers and assist them moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs or cars • Change bed linens, clean and iron residents’ laundry and assist keep residents’ room, cabinet, and dresser drawers neat and clean • Maintain a specialized approach to responsibilities such as uniform, start times and absenteeism • Take and record vital signs • Create and maintain a pleasant work environment • Help with sanitation and housekeeping duties of elderly or client’s room, bathroom, and common area • Perform household tasks; laundry, shopping, errands and transportation • Implement and support resident care-plan
