Hello, my name is Brenda. My career has been Cosmetology but about 9 yrs ago I stumbled into this profession when a dear friend of mine became a paraplegic. He had some mobility but needed a caregiver in his home 24hrs. a day. There were 3 caregivers, I being one, who were responsible for his personal care, preparing meals, house cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, therapy, escorting to Dr. visits, running errands, companionship and many other duties. I stayed in his home for 5 days in a row, then would be relieved by another caregiver. We each were assigned so many days a month and they were 24hr. days. My skills in this field not only include sanitation steps to protect the client, but many hands on practical duties. I prefer minimal lifting. I have experience from this job of 7 yrs. I assure you that I am honest and trustworthy. I am 64 yrs old and have a wonderful husband who is kind and has helped my former client as well in areas such as garage cleaning, some small fix it type jobs and the like.
