As a young girl at the age of 5 I was devastated that I had never had the pleasure of meeting my grandparents. My mom was an elderly care agent for a wonderful christian lady who suffered from polio and was paralyzed neck down. And me and her absolutely fell in love, she and her husband wanted grandchildren but could never have any. So we adopted eachother and we had 3 great years together. I helped bathe her, and understood how bed pans worked and knew how to change her catheter bag, and I remember her asking me before she died. "What would you like to be when you grow up?" And all I could say was "Grandma when I'm 20 I will be your nurse" and it stuck with me. It's been a passion, and after I graduate I will be going to college to become a health care aid for the elderly.
