Elder Care in Regina, Saskatchewan

Hi there, I am Kimberley. I am student at the College of Medicine at the U of S and recently just completed my first year. Through the College of Medicine\'s distributed learning, I will be doing the remainder of my education in Regina. My interest in Medicine right now is Family Medicine with a target population of adult-elderly. My experience as a care provider is largely for individuals that have intellectual and/or physical disabilities between the ages of 10-50. Having said that, I believe there are many transferable skills to senior care provision such as communication skills, and approach to and respect for the client. I have worked at a summer camp and various respite positions in the past where I have had to lift, change, and/or feed an individual. My experience is furthered through volunteer pursuits and regular home-life having to work, collaborate, communicate, and build friendships with a variety of individuals with disabilities. The bulk of my experience has been with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities between the ages of 10-50.
