Elder Care in Victoria, British Columbia

Hi! My name is Bethany. I graduated from Trinity Western University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I have had many years of experience working with the elderly population. For a summer, I worked on the Acute Care for Elders Unit at Peace Arch Hospital as a Student Nurse. Another summer, I worked at an Adult Day Center for respite care and most recently was employed at Surrey Memorial Hospital on the Acute Care for Elders Unit as a Registered Nurse. My jobs included: Bathing, toileting, administering medications and injections, assisting with activities of daily living, tube feeding, wound dressing changes, daily assessment and charting and overall care. I currently am in the process of moving to Victoria and would be able to start work at the beginning of May 2013. I am a friendly, outgoing individual and love working with people of all ages. Aside from my schooling (working on a geriatric unit) I had the opportunity as an Employed Student Nurse to work on the Peace Arch Acute Care for Elders Unit for a summer. Once graduating, I worked at Surrey Memorial as a Registered Nurse on the Acute Care for Elders Unit. During my time there, I acquired many skills and learning opportunities for me to grow and become confident in my role.
