Elder Care in Mississauga, Ontario

Hello families, My name is Laura Jordan. I am a mother of 2 beautiful children. I have been staying at home for the past 4 years taking care of them. I graduated with a diploma of Activation/coordination for Gerontology from George Brown college. I have worked with seniors since I was in high school. In my high school co-operative education class I spent a semester at a retirement home, and it completely changed my life. I graduated high school and started college in 2007. In 2008 I had my first son. Before my son turned two I graduated from GeorgeBrown with over 900 hours of experience. 400 of those hours were spent with clients/residents that had alzheimer\'s, dementia, and or some form of behavioural or mental disorder. Shortly after graduating from college I had my second son. I decided to take a break and stay at home to take care of them. Now that it has been a couple years and my youngest will be starting school in September, I\'ve decided it was time to get back to my passion and what makes me happy. That is taking care of people that just might need a little bit of company or helping them prepare their meals or just a simple conversation. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you I have created, implemented, evaluated programs and activities for seniors in different living arrangements. I have completed over 1000 hours of placement and co-operative education. I have specifically spent over 400 of those hours of college placement with seniors living with alzheimer's and dementia. I have also ran special events, escorted seniors to the mall to do their shopping, assisted with meal preparation and feeding. I have been trained in taking care of seniors ADL. I created and implemented my own excersise class.
