Elder Care Job in Bindloss, Alberta

Hello, We are looking for a live-in caregiver for our senior parents in their home. Our father has been diagnosised with dementia and although he is still very physically capable, his memory is really failing him. Our mother recently had a mild heart attack is is now working to regain her health and strength. At this point we need someone to be able to be there to make sure they take their morning and night medications and to be in the house at night for added safety. Nights would not require you to be awake - but to have a monitor on so you could hear if any emergencies arose. Also some occasional help with evening meals, errands and driving to appointments would be helpful. At this time mom and dad can probably be on their own most days, and so you would be free after morning medications until evening. If you were needed during daytime hours - arrangments would be made ahead of time to work into your schedule. As time goes by the job may need to expand as dad's disease progresses and thier needs increase. If this were to happen, and you were willing to take on more responsibilities - wages would be re-negotiated at that time to compensate for the increased work hours. We are a Christian family and faith is an important part of our parent's lives. Dad doesn't have a lot of hobbiees but spends quite a bit of time walking around the farm yard and caring for his pets (dogs and cats). Mom is very creative and enjoys making home made greeting cards for friends and to sell. We hope to find someone who can become like part of the family. Although we know it will take some time for our parents to get used to this new living arrangment - you will be treated well and have support from the whole family. Father has dementia.
