Hello, my name is Patrick. I decided to start working on my own because I did not feel like there was enough dignity in care, and I felt that people are getting lost in numbers in residential care homes where staff shortages result in shortcuts which fail to meet people’s social and emotional needs. I know for a fact that people thrive better in their own homes, in their own surroundings with help. With almost 20 years working with seniors including an acute hospital care, residential care, and in long term care. My car is insured so I can take people out for drives, shopping, or medical appointments. I do activities like canning, scratch cooking etc. I am especially patient centred, but I make sure that the family is also cared for in my scope as a caregiver. I love what I do, and I’m lucky to do what I love. In addition to full care, I can do light housekeeping, as well as cook meals. I have a full portfolio, and I have already cared for many people in their own homes with some wonderful results. I have also given palliative care in home if and when required. I am fully insured and my service can be written off depending on your situation, there a few programs that some families are entitled to if you are giving care in your own home I can share. I invoice every two weeks :) I am a 28 year married father of two boys and I show up for my shifts reliably because I have a mortgage and 2 boys in college. I can be flexible with hours because I know how taxing it can be to a primary caregiver. I have many detailed references to share, but I will not post them to the general public. When people ask me what I do I simply tell them that I give dignity for a living, find a better job then that. :) Cheers! Patrick
