Elder Care in Norwalk, Ohio

Currently employed part time a.m. in a group home caring for 3 gentlemen (mid 40's to late 60's) with severe autism and physical disabilities. Provide personal hygiene (bathing, shaving, etc), meal provision (i love to cook!) and housekeeping. As i do work a full time job from 3pm to 11pm with periodic needs at 11am to 11pm, i am looking for a range of 7am until noon. Although i thoroughly enjoy this part time position, i find a complete fulfillment lacking due to the inabilities and understanding of verbal communication with these gentlemen. Upfront, i am 62 years old. I am blessed with still having my parents (89yrs old & 85yrs old), as well as my in-laws who are in their mid 80's. Both of which live in the metro Detroit area, both of which are fiercely independent although they are reluctantly admitting to the sporadic need of outside assistance. It is that independence and that sporadic need that they require that i wish to give to someone in the community that i would otherwise be helping my family members with on a daily basis (if they'd want me around that much!) rather than on the weekends. Cooking, cleaning, re-arranging the furniture, minor household repairs, laundry, playing a game of checkers or chess, just listening to tales of days gone by, singing a song - ANYTHING to keep their minds active and generally and genuinely looking forward to seeing the light of the next day.........
