Elder Care in Hugo, Oklahoma

Summary: Hi there my name is Deanne. I am interviewing for a medical assistant work opportunity in Hugo, Oklahoma. I am committed to being a professional, disciplined individual. I can be available M, T, W, and Thurs. 3am to. 3pm. Services And Training: I will take care of social support, dementia care, and hospice care. I also have a drivers license. When it comes to prior qualifications, I cared for my elderly mother until her death in 2011 from cancer, I have befriended an elderly woman in Hugo with no living family members. I help her get to and from her doctor appointments in Tulsa, talk with her often and help her as needed. I volunteer at a local nursing home. My main focus being the lonely and not visited due to no remaining family or uninvolved families. Sadly, it's often the dementia resident, special needs resident or just plain difficult resident who is in need of human interation and touch therapy the most. I rotate and ecorporate my pet dauchsands, Bentley and Harley, to help with touch therapy. I am a caring and compassionate person with lots of empathy for others. My 20 plus years of teaching both in regular ed, special ed and alternative ed, grades k-12 has prepared me to handle most anything thrown at me. I am no stranger to depression, mental health issues, dementia, and death. I have lost both parents to Cancer, an Aunt to Alztimers and a daughter to due to her depression, lonliness and the diagnosis of a serious mental illness. Staying strong under pressure and in a crisis situation are strengths of mine. Patience and tolerance are also in my wheelhouse of strengths. Lastly, my intuitive nature and ability to empathize in agape love and compassion helps me connect and facilitate communication- both verbal and nonverbal. I have learned through the years that "people don't care what you know until they know you care" and that "all life is fragile and should be handled with care and prayer."
