Attends to patients admitted to the Critical Care Unit covering Cardiac, Medical-Surgical, and Pediatric patients including Telemetry Section. • Correctly administers highly sensitive medications • Work together with members of health care team to plan, put into practice, organize and appraise patient care in discussion with patients and their families. • Keep an eye on, evaluate, address, document and report symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions. Refers variations in the vital signs and other monitoring parameters. • Operates machines and devices that will provide intensive care to ICU patients, e.g. mechanical ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, telemeters, among others, and ensures that these equipments are working properly • Assists in minor operations done in the Critical Care Unit • Provides health teachings to patients, family and significant others • Advocates for patient rights to care including spiritual guidance • Attends to continuing education programs, seminars and training programs • Recognizes emergency situations and respond to noticeable changes in patient’s condition by initiating appropriate nursing interventions that may include acute cardiac life support and basic life Support.
